Australian regulations against "Botox Cowboys" - MARCH 23 2007
Getting botox injections at a party done by amateurs? It sounds rather stupid but it is happening. The Australian government is taking action by introducing new regulations to fight this rather new phenomenon. Incorrectly administered injections can cause serious health issues!
"PARTIES where women drink alcohol and have botox injections carried out by “botox cowboys” have led to a review of the cosmetic surgery industry by the NSW Government.
NSW Health Minister John Hatzistergos said these types of parties were replacing Tupperware parties and were being conducted without proper medical supervision and assessment.
In the review, a group of health experts will examine advertising which uses before and after pictures to promote cosmetic surgery."

Fake Botox treatments in US - MARCH 23 2007
Sure it sounds interesting if someone is selling something for a much cheaper price than the regular market price. And yes you could take the gamble and buy that chair for 50 bucks instead of a hundred. But when it comes to Botox treatments you are putting your own health at risk! If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.
"A west Houston anti-aging physician and her husband pleaded not guilty Thursday to federal charges involving an alleged scheme to buy and use a cheaper alternative to Botox at her clinic.
Dr. Gayle Rothenberg and Saul Gower, a lawyer, were named in a 14-count indictment handed down Wednesday. They are accused of conspiracy, mail fraud, misbranding of a drug for sale and lying to a Food and Drug Administration agent.
Rothenberg directs the Center for Image Enhancement at 2000 Bering. Gower is the office manager."

Botox can now be used to reduce neck lines - MARCH 21 2007
A New York dermatologist says that Botox can now be used to reduce neck lines. Botox has grown enormously in popularity over the years. It is being used to reduce fine lines around the eyes, and to treat serious sweating problems.
"New York, NY (AHN) - Botox, a treatment meant to reduce fine lines near the eyes and on other parts of the face, can now be safely used on the neck, a New York dermatologist said.
Botox shots in the neck are particularly useful for people who have a "permanent ring around the collar," a feature often seen in women in their late 40s and 50s. Botox is seen to reduce the chin-to-chest band that becomes apparent as people get older."
